About the Global Merchant Team
On the Global Merchant team, our mission is to provide best-in-class merchant selection—spanning restaurants and other verticals—to deliver exceptional value to consumers while empowering merchants to grow their businesses profitably on Wolt. We achieve this by building world class operations, launching innovative products and collaborating closely with commercial teams across our 30+ countries.
Our five global subteams focus on distinct areas of the merchant lifecycle and experience but also our internal efficiency related to reaching our mission:
- The Merchant S&O (Strategy & Operations) team is responsible for our merchant and selection strategy, merchant experience, planning and performance tracking, operating model design as well as commercial go-to-market approaches
- The Revenue S&O team owns and develops the revenue strategy, goaling, sales operations processes, tools and enablement programs to support and improve the productivity of our countries’ sales & account management teams.
- The Merchant Operations subteam focuses on smooth execution of core processes such as onboarding, in-store flows, self-service tooling and integrations - this in a very tight collaboration with our product teams
- The Enterprise team works directly with global current and prospective merchant partners to unlock and grow our joint business
- The B2B subteam owns and develops some of our newer service offerings for merchants - such as logistics as a service (Drive)
About the role
We are looking for a Compliance & Systems Enablement Senior Manager to join the Merchant Strategy & Operations (S&O) team. This role operates at the critical intersection of compliance governance, cost optimization, and operational excellence. You will play a key part in embedding compliance into merchant lifecycle processes, driving adoption of merchant systems, and ensuring we scale responsibly — both in terms of risk and cost.
This is a cross-functional leadership role with visibility across Legal, Product, Finance, and regional teams — ideal for someone who thrives in complex, global environments and can translate compliance requirements into practical, system-level solutions.
What you will be doing
- Embed Compliance by Design: Integrate SOX, KYB/C, DAC7, and other regulatory requirements into merchant systems and processes from the ground up.
- Support Audits & Risk Reviews: Own internal audit readiness, compliance checks, and proactively flag non-compliant initiatives. And prepare short & long term strategy to mitigate any compliance risk highlighted by auditors.
- Ensure IT & Data Compliance: Oversee that business systems and processes adhere to critical IT compliance requirements such as GDPR, ITGC, and access control standards—ensuring data protection, user governance, and auditability are consistently maintained across tools and workflows.
- Drive Tool Adoption & Enablement: Champion the rollout, onboarding, and training for systems like Salesforce,AI powered tools, and Ops Tool across all Wolt countries.
- Optimize System Performance & Vendor Accountability: Manage bugs, enhancements, and user support across core tools; maintain relationships with externally procured systems to ensure product performance, SLA adherence, and delivery of agreed-upon solutions.
- Track & Reduce Tooling Costs: Monitor external system expenses, identify optimization opportunities, and align with Finance on budget management.
- Design Scalable Processes: Build structured, compliant merchant lifecycle workflows with clear governance, access control, and preventive measures.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Legal, Product, Finance, and regional teams to ensure alignment and accountability across compliance and systems.
Our humble expectations
- Deep understanding of compliance frameworks including SOX, KYB/C, DAC7, and how they apply to system and process design
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional alignment and programs and act as a thought partner to Product, Legal, Sales, Systems and Ops teams
- Strong judgment and the ability to thoughtfully challenge or guide initiatives that may introduce regulatory or reputational risk.
- Experience driving compliance programs in complex, fast-paced, and multi-market environments
- Comfortable translating legal and regulatory requirements into practical, scalable operational controls, and productizing them into system-driven solutions.
- Clear communicator with a structured approach to documentation, governance, and stakeholder enablement.
