About Wolt
At Wolt, we create technology that brings joy, simplicity and earnings to the neighborhoods of the world. In 2014 we started with delivery of restaurant food. Now we’re building the delivery of (almost) everything and you’ll find us in over 500 cities in 30 countries around the world. In 2022 we joined forces with DoorDash and together we keep on dreaming big and expanding across the globe.
Working at Wolt isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely exciting. Here you’ll learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You’ll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you’re a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life.
About the Role
Wolt operates in over 32 countries, powered by a high-scale, high-performance platform built by specialized teams within our Core Platform Group. Among them, the Observability Engineering team plays a critical role in ensuring visibility, reliability, and performance across Wolt’s entire infrastructure.
We’re now looking for a FullStack Engineer with a Frontend focus to help design and build the internal products that enable observability across both Wolt and DoorDash. These tools are used daily by hundreds of engineers to operate services at massive scale—supporting workflows like debugging, incident response, performance monitoring, and system health insights.
As our observability platform continues to evolve, we’re investing in purpose-built frontend experiences that meet the scale and complexity of modern telemetry. You’ll play a central role in delivering fast, intuitive, and reliable interfaces that transform raw data into meaningful insight across logs, metrics, and traces.
This is a deeply cross-functional role. You’ll collaborate closely with backend engineers, infrastructure teams, and design system experts to build experiences that fit naturally into engineering workflows. It’s a unique opportunity where frontend expertise, UX thinking, developer empathy, and a product mindset come together to drive platform impact at scale.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement fast, data-rich user interfaces that streamline how engineers explore signals, triage issues, and understand system behavior.
- Develop frontend workflows that make complex telemetry data accessible and actionable—enabling better insight, faster debugging, and confident decision-making.
- Build reusable components and UI patterns in collaboration with internal design systems and platform UX teams.
- Contribute to engineering self-service tools that support triage, alerting, visualization, and telemetry adoption.
- Work closely with backend engineers building telemetry pipelines, unified query layers, and distributed storage backends.
- Proactively identify UX gaps, propose improvements, and experiment with new technologies or techniques to improve the developer experience.
- Participate in defining the long-term direction for observability UIs in a high-scale, multi-org environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience building modern frontend applications using React, TypeScript, and web-based visualization tools.
- A product mindset and attention to developer workflows—especially when working with technical users and high-volume datasets.
- Familiarity with releasing and maintaining frontend applications in production, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and performance monitoring.
- Comfortable contributing to backend systems when needed; Golang experience is a strong plus, or a willingness to ramp up quickly.
- Exposure to observability or internal developer platform domains—especially tools used by engineers to operate distributed systems.
- Basic UX sensibility—able to design intuitive interactions in complex technical domains, even if you're not a designer by trade.
- Familiarity with agile development, iterative product thinking, and close collaboration across backend, design, and infrastructure teams.
Nice to Have
- Contributions to open-source projects in the observability frontend space—e.g., Grafana, Perses, or HyperDX.
- Familiarity with observability standards like OpenTelemetry, especially in the context of frontend tooling or developer-facing workflows.
- Experience working closely with SRE, infrastructure, or platform engineering teams, particularly on internal platform tools.
- Experience with Slack-based developer tooling, triage dashboards, or real-time alerting UX.
Why Join Us
- Help shape one of the most critical platforms relied on by engineers at Wolt and DoorDash every day.
- Tackle high-scale, high-impact frontend challenges where usability, performance, and system understanding converge.
- Collaborate with globally distributed teams that bring deep expertise in observability, infrastructure, and developer experience.
- Contribute to meaningful engineering workflows and internal tools that directly improve how large-scale systems are built and operated.
- Influence the direction of frontend observability tooling—and have the opportunity to contribute to open-source projects and engage with the broader engineering community through talks, blog posts, or conference participation.
- Enjoy a remote-friendly work environment, flexible culture, and strong peer support in a high-trust engineering team.
📍 This role can be based in one of our tech hubs in Helsinki, Berlin, or Stockholm, or remotely in Finland, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, or Estonia. Relocation support is available for candidates outside these regions.
