We’re looking for a sharp, execution-driven Design Lead to join our Merchant team at Wolt. This team builds self-serve, scalable tools for our merchants across 23 countries—delivering new 0→1 products that empower partners to onboard, grow, and succeed independently. In today’s rapidly evolving product landscape, we’re not looking for someone to simply manage—we’re looking for someone to lead from the front.
This role is ideal for someone who’s equally comfortable driving strategy and jumping into the work, who can inspire their team under pressure, and who sees ambiguity as an opportunity, not a blocker.

What you'll be doing
- Build and Lead: You’ll lead the design team within the Merchant area—building the strategy, shaping execution, and mentoring a high-performing team.
- Raise the Bar: Set and uphold a high bar for design quality, velocity, and craft. Not just in pixels—but in product thinking, clarity of storytelling, and interaction polish.
- Drive Strategy: Collaborate with group leads and product counterparts to define what we should build—not just how to build it. You’ll contribute to shaping the Merchant Experience Playbook in collaboration with Brand and Design leadership.
- Move the Work: Guide the team through ambiguous 0→1 spaces. You’ll help cut through noise, unblock delivery, and bring strategic ideas to life through rapid execution.
- Coach and Elevate: Develop and grow designers through hands-on feedback, career support, and performance management. You’ll create an environment that pushes for both craft and pace.
- Act with Urgency: You’ll work autonomously, drive change proactively, and prioritize impact over process. You understand that velocity is strategy.
Our humble expectations
- 3+ years of experience leading design teams in product-led organizations, ideally in SaaS, platform, or marketplace environments
- A sharp eye for detail and deep appreciation for high-quality, user-centered design
- A track record of building and shipping B2B or consumer tools across platforms (desktop + mobile)
- The ability to shape vision and drive execution—comfortable setting direction and rolling up your sleeves
- Proven leadership in high-ambiguity, fast-paced environments
- Strong storytelling, cross-functional influence, and stakeholder management skills
- A mindset of urgency, experimentation, and continuous improvement
- Bonus: Experience designing for or applying AI in product workflows
