The behind the scenes of Wolt is run by an awesome bunch of over 700+ planners, builders, designers and data crunchers. We call ourselves Product+, as we’re the very core of Wolt’s products, tools and platforms. To build our products, we work in over 60 cross-functional, independent and autonomous teams. Teams are made up of a mix of talented individuals: engineers, designers, data scientists, analysts, and product leads. Each team takes ownership for solving customer problems in the best possible way.
We’re looking for an Android Engineer to join our AdTech Engineering team at Wolt. Our mission is to design, build, and expand advertising surfaces that empower Merchants and Brands to promote their offerings effectively across Wolt’s ecosystem — including in-app placements, discovery pages, the cart, and beyond.
What you’ll be doing
As an Android Engineer in the AdTech team, your role is to implement and contribute to the development of our beautifully designed consumer app. You will be at the forefront of the Wolt advertising experience, building features that impact millions of users by enabling and creating new surfaces in our application.
You’ll work closely with our designer, analyst, product lead, and fellow engineers as we balance our efforts to grow our promotions business at a high speed while maintaining engineering excellence. You will be involved in building and supporting advertising surfaces throughout the entire Android consumer app, ensuring both internal and external stakeholders can efficiently launch, track, and manage promotions. You will also have ownership of quality assurance and solidifying our telemetry logic to ensure data accuracy and system reliability.
We prefer hybrid work mode - once per week in the office in Berlin or Helsinki
Our humble expectations
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Android development
- Understanding of the Android ecosystem and platform
- A strong interest in building a maintainable and extensible Android platform
- End-to-end system design understanding
- Experienced with CI/CD pipelines
- Strong communication skills
- Stakeholder management experience
- Familiar in driving initiatives across an engineering organisation
- Optional, but great to have: Experience/interest in mobile observability
- Have an eye for great user experience
To succeed in this role, you should have strong experience in building Android apps (minimum 3 years of experience as a developer and leading initiatives) using modern technologies and the latest Android platform features.
Quality is at the core of everything we do—from crafting user interfaces to maintaining scalable architectures and writing maintainable source code. You should have experience with testing processes and be comfortable implementing automated unit & UI testing while collaborating with our excellent QA engineers to prevent regressions.
Additionally, we value strong communication skills and experience working in a multi-team development environment. Since knowledge sharing is a key part of our culture, you should enjoy participating in regular meetups to learn from others and share your own experiences.
