About the role
At Wolt, customer experience isn't just important — it’s everything. We’re reimagining the way people shop and receive goods by building one of the most beloved consumer-facing apps in 30+ countries. Behind the scenes, over 700+ product and tech professionals are pushing the boundaries of what a seamless delivery and retail experience can be.
The Retail Acceleration team is at the heart of this mission — creating future-forward features like loyalty rewards, smart product returns, and handling sensitive areas like regulatory compliance for items such as alcohol and medication. What You’ll Be Doing
- Build the future of the Wolt consumer Android app, delivering beautifully crafted Kotlin-based experiences used by millions of people across the globe.
- Own the full engineering lifecycle — from architecture and development to testing, deployment, and production monitoring.
- Solve complex challenges where elegant user experiences intersect with real-world responsibilities like compliance, safety, and platform performance.
- Collaborate daily with designers, analysts, fellow engineers, and product leads in a high-ownership, cross-functional team.
- Help shape how we build on Android using Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and modern architectural patterns — all while working closely with our Motion Designer to bring animations and UI interactions to life.
Our humble expectations
- At least 4 years of commercial experience with Kotlin and Compose, not exceeding 6 years.
- Proficiency in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and coroutines.
- Familiarity with modern Android architecture: MVI, modularization, Koin, Maestro, and beyond.
- Testing ownership mindset (i.e. owning the whole cycle of development - not just developing features, but actually making sure they’re defect free, shipping them into customers’ hands)
- Production app monitoring and troubleshooting experience
- Desire to build beautiful animations (with the help of our Motion Designer)
- Experience working in multi-team development environment
- Proven ability to work independently, break down product requirements into technical tasks, and drive them to completion with minimal supervision.
- Collaborative and clear communication style; you enjoy working across teams and disciplines.
- Bonus: Experience managing full feature delivery — including writing epics and tickets, aligning with design and PM, and seeing it through to production.
Additional Information
The position is based in Finland or Berlin. It's fully remote with the option to come to the office.
