The Role
We’re searching for a Head of PR and Communications to lead our external communications in Germany. You’ll be at the heart of building our narrative, increasing our brand awareness and strategic positioning, as well as building media relations and handling possible media crises. If you’re a creative storyteller with a knack for strategic thinking, this is your chance to make a big impact in a high priority market. This Berlin-based role plays a key part within the global Wolt communications team, as well as with the General Manager and local leadership team in Germany. It reports to our Head of Media Relations based in Helsinki.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute communications strategies that align with our business goals and tell great proactive stories about our German business, partners and team.
- Lead our PR agency and ensure consistent messaging and creative storytelling across all channels - earned (B2C & B2B) and owned.
- Bring a digital-first approach, leveraging social media and online platforms to amplify our message.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts in Germany.
- Develop great written materials (e.g. press releases, blog posts, Q&A’s, social media posts and more) for internal and external use.
- Support with the coordination of the information flow across our organization.
- Coach and advise local spokespeople for media encounters.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including Marketing, Legal, Operations and Product, to ensure a unified PR and communications approach.
What we’re looking for
- 10+ years experience in communications / PR / media relations at an agency or in-house. Background in technology or delivery platforms is a plus.
- Fluent in German and English, other languages a plus.
- Stellar writing skills, especially in German, with the ability to simplify complex topics and adapt messaging for different audiences.
- Strong relationship building skills with diverse stakeholders and the ability to juggle multiple projects independently.
- Great organizational skills and a proactive mindset with great attention to detail and high standards for your work.
- High level of independent thinking and acting.
