About Wolt

At Wolt, we create technology that brings joy, simplicity and earnings to the neighborhoods of the world. In 2014 we started with delivery of restaurant food. Now we’re building the delivery of (almost) everything and you’ll find us in over 500 cities in 30 countries around the world. In 2022 we joined forces with DoorDash and together we keep on dreaming big and expanding across the globe.

Working at Wolt isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely exciting. Here you’ll learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You’ll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you’re a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life.

Our Legal superstars have been an integral part throughout this journey - they’ve consistently been at the forefront of building and scaling legal and compliance operations in all of Wolt’s markets. In Israel, we have 4 lawyers, based in Tel Aviv. We’re now looking to hire to our legal team in Israel a temporary position (Maternity Leave), reporting to the Director, Legal Counsel (Israel) in Tel Aviv, heading the country’s legal team.

We’re looking for someone who has the ability to tackle a number of complicated legal issues, with a practical, problem-solving approach.  People who do best at Wolt are those who proactively do useful things that no one told them to do and who tend to find a way when they know something needs to be done.  A solid understanding of e-commerce would be fantastic and it goes without saying that you are a true ‘people person’ :)

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal support for all aspects of Wolt’s business in Israel, covering both Wolt’s platform and Wolt Market. You will work closely with business teams and collaborate with global teams, including product development, operations, and business development.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Providing Legal Guidance: Supporting various business functions with legal counsel on a wide range of topics, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Analyzing Legal Challenges: Breaking down complex legal issues, communicating their implications to non-legal stakeholders, and developing practical, business-friendly solutions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Advising on regulatory requirements, ensuring adherence to local laws, and keeping the business updated on legal changes.
  • Policy & Process Development: Identifying legal risks, developing solutions, and helping implement policies and processes to strengthen and scale the legal function.
  • Staying Ahead of Legal Developments: Monitoring and advising on emerging legal and regulatory issues that may impact the business.
  • Consumer Protection & Compliance: Managing consumer-facing legal matters, including reviewing and updating terms & conditions (T&Cs), assessing product design compliance, and evaluating marketing practices.
  • Litigation Management: Overseeing legal disputes and litigation processes, working with external counsel when necessary.

  • 5+ years of experience practicing law, ideally with previous in-house experience, handling b2b/b2c/regulatory matters, preferably in the e-commerce sphere, in an international setting.

  • A qualified lawyer in Israel with strong academic achievements.

  • Generalist skills with strong expertise in both consumer and B2B legal matters and solid experience in providing advice regarding several of the following:  e-commerce, consumer protection, competition law,  data protection and privacy, general contract law, marketing, platform economy, and corporate.

  • Experience in working in close cooperation with internal and external legal teams and working on multiple tasks at the same time.

  • Ability to effectively weigh risks and payoffs in a number of scenarios.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Fluent in English and Hebrew.
