About the role
Wolt is a Finnish technology company best known for delivering meals and groceries, but our ambitions go far beyond that. We’re building a platform that powers the retail experience of the future, enabling customers to order everything from flowers and pharmacy items to electronics and general merchandise, all delivered to their door in minutes.
In Denmark, Wolt has already established a strong presence, and now we’re accelerating growth within our Retail vertical. To support this exciting next phase, we’re looking for a Head of Account Management (Retail) to take over and lead our team of five experienced retail account managers.
This role goes beyond day-to-day account oversight - your team is responsible for driving revenue, optimizing partner performance, and building scalable processes and structures that enable sustainable growth. You’ll report to the Head of Retail, Denmark and work closely with teams across the country and Wolt’s HQ in Helsinki and other markets.
What you’ll be doing
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a team of five account managers, ensuring performance, development and engagement.
- Partner Management: Fully own our existing retail partner portfolio, driving performance, uncovering new opportunities, and strengthening relationships.
- Strategic Growth: Shape and execute a strategy that balances short-term commercial wins with long-term value creation for both Wolt and our partners.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders at major national retail chains and local stores. - Commercial Negotiations: Engage in high-level commercial negotiations and secure mutually beneficial long-term agreements.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with our marketing, operations, product, and other teams to drive initiatives and enhance both partner and customer experience.
- Data-Driven Decision-Making: Leverage analytics to track trends, define KPIs, and make informed decisions that improve results.
- Partner Development: Drive partner growth through strategic initiatives such as white-label logistics, co-branded marketing, store expansion, category development, and advertising.
- Process Optimization: Improve account management practices, performance tracking, and internal workflows.
- Commercial Leadership: Act as a key member of the commercial leadership team, contributing to overall market strategy.
Our humble expectations
- Seasoned Leader: You’ve led commercial or account management teams, ideally across different seniority levels.
- Holistic Business Mindset: You understand how account management, commercial strategy, partner operations, and customer experience all connect.
- Strong Commercial Acumen: Your background may include consulting, business development, commercial strategy, or retail operations - whatever the case, you’re commercially sharp.
- Execution-Ready: You love big-picture thinking but aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and get close to the work.
- Negotiation Skills: You’re confident navigating complex negotiations and building long-term, trust-based relationships with C-level stakeholders.
- Analytical & Structured: You work comfortably with Excel, and ideally, you have experience with BI tools like Looker, Tableau, or SQL.
- Cross-functional Player: You enjoy working across teams and borders, building bridges and getting things done.
- Organized & Action-Oriented: You’re proactive, prioritization-savvy, and thrive in fast-moving environments. When you are doing a project - you always consider if we can test today rather than next week.
- Language Skills: You’re fluent in English and have a good understanding of Danish.
- Retail Experience: Experience within retail, FMCG, or platform business models is a plus, but not a requirement.
