From Sales Manager to Team Lead - Tina's story

Tina from the Georgian team is no exception, and we get to hear her story next! 

Hi Tina! How are you doing today?

I’m doing great, thanks! Things are going really well, the busy season just started with many important goals ahead. Wolt in Georgia is constantly growing, new team members are joining us, bringing fresh energy and innovative ideas that keep everything dynamic. I truly enjoy being part of this journey and our growth. 

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your journey at Wolt so far?

I have 11 years of experience in sales, and four years ago, I joined Wolt as the first Retail Partnership Manager in Georgia. It was at an exciting time – until this point Wolt had been focused on food delivery from restaurants, but was planning to expand focus to cover retail too. When I started, we had only a few retail partners. Now, we have a wide selection – you can use Wolt to order anything from groceries to flowers to pharmacy items, and the growth continues.

In 2023, the retail and restaurant teams merged into one commercial team, and I took on the role of Sales Lead. This opened up a whole new chapter for me. Over the past year, my team and I have been working closely with both retailers and restaurants, tackling new challenges and opportunities every day, which makes the work even more rewarding.

What motivated you to join the sales team at Wolt?

When I joined Wolt, the sales team was quite small and I was inspired by the company’s innovative vision and dedication to growth. The opportunity came at a time when Wolt was expanding into retail during the pandemic, a field where I had relevant experience. I was excited to help shape this new direction. Joining the team felt like a great opportunity to be part of something exciting in the industry.

Can you describe a typical day for you, whether as a Sales Manager or Team Lead?

As a Sales Manager, my days started early, reviewing the pipeline and handling contracts and emails. Afternoons were filled with calls and meetings, and in the evening, I focused on closing deals and planning for the next day. 

Now, as a Team Lead, my responsibilities have changed. I spend more time monitoring the sales team’s performance, analyzing results, and having one-on-one conversations with team members. I also work closely with my team on current and potential partnerships. Each day involves a mix of leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on partner management.

What’s the most enjoyable aspect of your job?

What I enjoy most about my job is the chance to connect and communicate with so many different people. It keeps things exciting and helps me grow both personally and professionally. Every day is different, filled with new experiences, challenges, and opportunities. At Wolt, there’s a strong sense of teamwork, and everyone is always ready to help. This supportive, collaborative culture makes a big difference. Working in sales also comes with a lot of independence – I get to own my work, plan, and bring my ideas to reality, which is really motivating. This trust and freedom keep me engaged and driven to improve every day.
