About Wolt
At Wolt, we create technology that brings joy, simplicity and earnings to the neighborhoods of the world. In 2014 we started with delivery of restaurant food. Now we’re building the delivery of (almost) everything and you’ll find us in over 500 cities in 30 countries around the world. In 2022 we joined forces with DoorDash and together we keep on dreaming big and expanding across the globe.
Working at Wolt isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely exciting. Here you’ll learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You’ll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you’re a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life.
About the Global Merchant Team
On the Global Merchant team, our mission is to provide best-in-class merchant selection—spanning restaurants and other verticals—to deliver exceptional value to consumers while empowering merchants to grow their businesses profitably on Wolt. We achieve this by building world class operations, launching innovative products and collaborating closely with commercial teams across our 30+ countries.
Our five global subteams focus on distinct areas of the merchant lifecycle and experience but also our internal efficiency related to reaching our mission:
- The Merchant S&O (Strategy & Operations) team is responsible for our merchant and selection strategy, merchant experience, planning and performance tracking, operating model design as well as commercial go-to-market approaches
- The Revenue S&O team owns and develops the revenue strategy, goaling, sales operations processes, tools and enablement programs to support and improve the productivity of our countries’ sales & account management teams.
- The Merchant Operations subteam focuses on smooth execution of core processes such as onboarding, in-store flows, self-service tooling and integrations - this in a very tight collaboration with our product teams
- The Enterprise team works directly with global current and prospective merchant partners to unlock and grow our joint business
- The B2B subteam owns and develops some of our newer service offerings for merchants - such as logistics as a service (Drive)
About the role
As a Compliance Sr. Manager, you will take ownership of ensuring that all merchant-related product and process changes meet internal compliance standards and external regulatory requirements. In this role, you will serve as a strategic partner across Product, Sales, and Ops—actively reviewing initiatives and confidently challenging those that fall short of compliance expectations. You will lead sales controlling efforts, enforce process checks, and work to align systems with frameworks such as SOX, KYB/C, DAC7, and other legal obligations. With a growing footprint across markets and a more integrated systems landscape, you’ll play a key role in embedding compliance-by-design, supporting audits, and building governance mechanisms that ensure we scale responsibly and sustainably. This role will be located (or willing to relocate) in Berlin or Helsinki.
What you will be doing
- Ensure compliance is integrated into the design and rollout of all merchant-related product and process changes, not treated as an additional task.
- Review and guide initiatives from local and Product teams that do not align with our internal standards or legal frameworks
- Lead ongoing compliance checks and sales controls, ensuring all systems and processes meet SOX, KYB/C, DAC7, and other applicable requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement governance frameworks and maintain audit readiness across internal and external reviews
- Identify risk areas early and embed preventive measures that reduce exposure while enabling scalable growth
- Build structured documentation and enablement processes to ensure teams understand and adhere to compliance practices
Our humble expectations
- Deep understanding of compliance frameworks including SOX, KYB/C, DAC7, and how they apply to system and process design
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional alignment and act as a thought partner to Product, Legal, Sales, and Ops teams
- Strong judgment and confidence in pushing back on initiatives that pose regulatory or reputational risk
- Experience driving compliance programs in complex, fast-paced, and multi-market environments
- Comfortable translating legal and regulatory requirements into practical, scalable operational controls
- Clear communicator with a structured approach to documentation, governance, and stakeholder enablement
Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
We’re committed to growing and empowering a more inclusive community within our company, industry, and cities. That’s why we hire and cultivate diverse teams of people from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We believe that true innovation happens when everyone has room at the table and the tools, resources, and opportunity to excel.
