Role background
Wolt is a Finnish technology company and we’re best known for our food delivery platform. In 2017, Wolt operated in 4 countries and 10 cities across the Nordics. Fast forward to today, we’re a team of 10,000+ people in 27 countries and over 500+ cities, servicing over 36 million registered users. As the platform economy is changing the ways consumers connect with restaurants and retailers, we're seeing a huge opportunity to be the industry leader with the amazing teams we have built globally.
New Verticals is our fastest growing business, and as a Global Product Data & Quality Manager at Wolt, you’ll shape the foundation for it — ensuring that structured product data, taxonomy, and automation-friendly systems work seamlessly to support a wolt-class customer experience. This role is pivotal to unlock the shopping mall in your pocket, as it is positioned at the core of our global content strategy.
You’ll define what “good” looks like for product data across New Verticals, partner with Product and Engineering to build scalable solutions, and work closely with local teams to ensure consistent execution. Your work will directly power everything from smart search and filtering to operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and customer trust — helping millions of people find the products they need, faster.
What you’ll be doing
- Shape the content foundation: Set clear standards for wolt-class product data across New Verticals to support discovery, automation, and scalable customer experience.
- Own & evolve our global taxonomy: Maintain and enhance the classification structure that powers everything from product discovery to internal reporting and automation — enabling us to scale efficiently while staying customer-first.
- Bridge cross-functional requirements: Balance expectations across customer-facing product teams, internal tooling stakeholders, and local markets — ensuring our data model drives both operational efficiency and frontend innovation.
- Champion global content governance: Advocate for structured, complete, and high-quality product data — and lead the creation and implementation of global frameworks, playbooks, and projects woltwide to help teams understand its role across user experience (e.g. search and filtering), compliance, and business decision-making.
- Drive scalable tooling with Product & Engineering: Co-own the development of catalogue tools, automation flows, and feed integrations, ensuring they serve both internal content workflows and downstream product requirements.
- Lead global content initiatives: Steer cross-functional projects that connect stakeholders across countries, business functions, Product, and Analytics — defining shared roadmaps and driving high-impact delivery.
- Own global rollout & local excellence: Translate strategy into guidelines and tooling support that empower local teams to maintain high-quality data with minimal friction.
- Fill the gap while tools are built: Support manual workarounds or stopgap content initiatives, unlocking short-term value without compromising on standards.
Our humble expectations
You’re a structured strategist with a hands-on mindset — someone who understands the power of clean data and knows how to make it work at scale.
- Bring relevant experience: You hold a degree in business, information systems, e-commerce, product operations, or a related field, and have 4+ years of experience working with product data, taxonomies, or catalogue systems in digital, marketplace, or retail environments — with a strong understanding of their business value and customer impact. Ideally, you gained experience in leveraging LLMs to improve data quality
- Understand data lifecycle: You grasp how structured content flows across systems — from ingestion to enrichment, search, filters & reporting — and how to improve it.
- Structure & simplify complexity: You’re skilled at turning ambiguous or conflicting objectives into a clear, scalable framework — aligning tooling, local operations, and other stakeholders toward long-term solutions.
- Think strategically, act practically: You see both the forest and the trees — strategic in your thinking, but not afraid to get hands-on when needed.
- Align stakeholders and build ownership: You bring people together across functions, clarify priorities, and advocate for data quality and structure — even without formal authority.
- Back decisions with data: You combine strong analytical skills with sound judgement — able to define success metrics, interpret performance, identify gaps and opportunities, and make informed decisions using the tools at hand.
- Operate globally, communicate clearly: You have excellent English skills — both written and verbal — and can clearly articulate complex ideas across diverse, international teams. Additional language skills are a plus.
- Take initiative and drive impact: You’re comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment — proactively identifying gaps, proposing improvements, and turning ideas into action in close collaboration with global and local teams; You bring a high level of ownership with an intrinsic motivation to deliver results.
