About Wolt
At Wolt, we create technology that brings joy, simplicity and earnings to the neighborhoods of the world. In 2014 we started with delivery of restaurant food. Now we’re building the delivery of (almost) everything and you’ll find us in over 500 cities in 30 countries around the world. In 2022 we joined forces with DoorDash and together we keep on dreaming big and expanding across the globe.
Working at Wolt isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely exciting. Here you’ll learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You’ll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you’re a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life.
We are seeking a Strategy & Operations Manager to join our Global Delivery Operations team, with a key focus on Courier Pricing. Our team is responsible for developing and executing Wolt’s Courier Pricing strategy across all Regions, aiming to enhance delivery quality and drive growth in a capital-efficient manner.
In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing our long-term Courier Pricing strategy. You will lead development projects and collaborate with regional teams to help them meet their financial and operational goals. To achieve success, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Regional Operations, Product, Analytics, and Finance.
If you are a curious and analytically-driven individual who thrives in a collaborative environment, we’d love to hear from you!
Role background
Wolt is a Finnish technology company and we’re best known for our food delivery platform. Founded in 2014, today we have over 7,000 employees and we operate across 23 countries. We also have expanded our platform beyond food delivery into categories such as grocery, cosmetics and more.
Our Global Operations team is a task force within Wolt that helps our Regional teams’ business grow and scale. Global Operations drive long-term strategy, scalable processes, and sustainable business models across our entire base of operations. We work closely with our Regional teams, general management and key functional leaders across dimensions such as product and analytics, and drive forward company-wide projects with high strategic importance.
What You'll Be Doing
Our team ensures that the Courier Pricing model remains fair, efficient, and competitive across our 30+ markets. We have clear targets, and your role will involve a variety of tasks that directly contribute to achieving those objectives.
In practice, you will:
- Shape long-term business strategy and product development plans to ensure we’re headed in the right direction, focusing on initiatives that deliver the most impact.
- Lead cross-functional programs that drive significant improvements in ensuring fair, efficient, and competitive pricing.
- Plan, execute, and analyze experiments alongside the Analytics team, using data to drive decisions that enhance efficiency and performance across all regions.
- Collaborate with Regional Operations and Pricing teams to roll out new features, ensure they meet performance expectations, and identify opportunities for further improvements.
Our Humble Expectations
We are looking for someone with:
- 5+ years of relevant experience preferably in (i) strategy & operations in a top tier tech/platform company or (ii) management consulting or (iii) pricing / revenue management in a comparable industry
- A natural leader with stellar people & project management skills, as you’ll need to be able to inspire and persuade colleagues from a broad spectrum of backgrounds in a cross-team setting and get them to work towards one goal in a coordinated, collaborative and efficient manner
- Problem-solving skills: our team is in the business of solving hard problems and developing new solutions. There’s rarely a handbook that we can refer to. Hence, you need to be ingenious and relentless at solving hairy business problems, not just in the abstract but also on the lowest level of detail
- Proactive ownership mentality - an independent thinker who can work with limited guidance, but through grit and determination can deliver a successful outcome.
- Analytical skills: you’ll work with data every single day. While we’re not expecting you to be an expert, you’ll benefit from having an elementary understanding of experimentation, causal inference, predictive modeling and optimization so that you can collaborate effectively with Data Scientists. Knowledge with SQL is a plus.
- Eligible to work in the EU, and able to work in one of our business focal points: Helsinki, Copenhagen or Berlin.
What You'll Get By Joining Us
- An opportunity to be part of building something exceptional in an international environment
- Lots of learning and growth in a globally scaling tech company
