Responsibilities:
- General Ledger (GL) accounting for defined entities.
- Processing primary accounting documents and entering data into the ERP system, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Verifying correct assignment of Japan Consumption Tax for the reviewer
- Conducting balance sheet reconciliations and supporting month-end closing activities.
- Ensuring adherence to group accounting policies and principles.
- Assisting in financial statement preparation and regulatory reporting for both Group and local Japan, including:
- Corporate tax, Consumption tax, and other local taxes.
- Annual tax filings.
- Monthly withholding tax for payroll, vendors, and annual filings.
- Processing web banking and E-TAX (Japan).
- Supporting stakeholders with accounting-related questions and assisting with audit requests.
- 5-10 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience in journal posting across various scenarios.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS or US GAAP.
- Understanding of accounting processes; experience with SOX compliance is a plus.
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
- Degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
- Comfortable using English in a working environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities in fast-paced settings.
- Language Proficiency:
- Native-level Japanese proficiency or above (N1), with experience at a Japanese subsidiary.
