About Wolt
At Wolt, we create technology that brings joy, simplicity and earnings to the neighborhoods of the world. In 2014 we started with delivery of restaurant food. Now we’re building the delivery of (almost) everything and you’ll find us in over 500 cities in 30 countries around the world. In 2022 we joined forces with DoorDash and together we keep on dreaming big and expanding across the globe.
Working at Wolt isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely exciting. Here you’ll learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You’ll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you’re a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life.
We are looking for a Manager, Retail Assortment Strategy to join the Global New Verticals Commercial team, which owns the development and execution of the commercial strategy for Wolt’s New Vertical businesses across all markets. New Verticals is one of Wolt’s key growth engines, spanning grocery and non-grocery retail, and our team is responsible for driving step-change improvements across assortment, promotions, pricing, and content globally.
In this role, you will take full ownership of Retail Assortment Strategy, leading the development and execution of ambitious selection projects that directly impact both top-line growth and bottom-line performance. You will drive cross-team initiatives that improve how we build, manage, and scale assortments across 30+ markets, while ensuring strong local execution and a best-in-class customer experience.
This is your opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of Wolt’s retail offering at global scale.
What you’ll be doing
Our team has clear, measurable targets related to assortment quality and growth. Your day-to-day work will include a wide range of strategic and operational activities to achieve those targets. In practice, you will:
- Own selection related targets and ensure consistent progress with tangible impact on customer experience and basket size
- Lead cross-team projects that drive step-change improvements in retail assortment (quantity + quality) across grocery and non-grocery verticals
- Collaborate closely with global and local teams to align assortment strategy cross functionally while building tools and processes for strong local execution and driving individual merchant case studies where needed
- Partner with Analytics to define the right metrics and tracking tools to measure performance and enable action at scale as well as to run experiments to make data-informed decisions on opportunity areas
- Work with Product teams to roll out and optimize new product features related to selection, guiding adoption, measuring impact, and feeding insights back into product development
- Shape long-term plans related to assortment strategy, ensuring we invest in initiatives that yield the highest impact over time
Our humble expectations
- 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in (i) commercial, category management, or assortment-related roles in e-commerce or online retail; (ii) strategy & operations roles in a top-tier tech or platform company; (iii) management consulting with strong exposure to commercial or operational topics
- Strong problem-solving skills: you are comfortable tackling complex, ambiguous problems with no ready-made playbook and can go deep into details when needed
- People & project management skills: you can influence and align diverse stakeholders in cross-functional, cross-market setups and drive initiatives to completion
- Drive, ownership, and independence: you are comfortable being fully accountable, taking initiative, and operating with a high degree of autonomy
- Strong analytical skills: advanced spreadsheet skills are a must and SQL experience is a strong plus. Familiarity with experimentation, metrics, and data-driven decision-making is expected
- Business acumen and a strong eye for customer experience: you can balance commercial impact with what truly improves the end-user experience
- Strong AI literacy: you have hands-on experience using AI tools to automate workflows, generate insights, or meaningfully change how projects are executed
What we offer
- High impact role at the center of one of Wolt’s fastest growing business areas with direct influence on customer experience and commercial outcomes
- End to end ownership of global assortment initiatives with visible impact across dozens of markets
- Close collaboration with senior commercial leaders as well as Product, Analytics and Data Science teams
- The opportunity to shape how data and AI are embedded into assortment strategy and everyday decision making
- A culture of ownership, trust and learning, with strong exposure and room to grow scope and responsibility over time
