About Wolt
At Wolt, we create technology that brings joy, simplicity and earnings to the neighborhoods of the world. In 2014 we started with delivery of restaurant food. Now we’re building the delivery of (almost) everything and you’ll find us in over 500 cities in 30 countries around the world. In 2022 we joined forces with DoorDash and together we keep on dreaming big and expanding across the globe.
Working at Wolt isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely exciting. Here you’ll learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You’ll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you’re a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life.
Wolt is introducing an employment option in Finland and Norway where deliveries on the platform are carried out both by independent contractors and employed couriers, which is a new way of operating for us.
For context, please read what this is all about in Finland and what our plans are in Norway.
We are now hiring a Regional Lead to manage the new operations model and the independent company operating it. This role blends operational excellence, people leadership, and collaboration across teams to build the foundations and bring this new setup to life.
You’ll lead the setup, growth, and management of employed courier operations. Starting from Finland and Norway, you’ll build and improve the structures, teams, and practices with a group of operations and HR professionals in your team.
Building something new is both challenging and exciting. If you’re a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this might be the right place for you. Working on this new initiative at Wolt Operations, you’ll probably learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You’ll be challenged for sure, but you will also have a lot of fun on the way.
If you’re excited to build an entirely new way of working, to collaborate across cross-functional teams, and to bring this model to life, apply now.
What you’ll be doing
As a Regional Lead, you are managing Wolt’s new employment model in the Nordics.
With your team, you’ll be responsible for building and leading Operations for employed couriers, creating scalable processes and developing ways of working with stakeholders.
Your main responsibilities will include
- Own the business performance of Wolt’s employed courier operations in Finland and Norway
- Manage and coach teams across the region, ensuring we build strong, people-focused operations units in each country.
- Drive operational performance, ensuring the employed courier model meets business, quality, and compliance goals
- Partner with HR, Legal, and Operations stakeholders to create unified practices and scalable frameworks for employment-based courier operations.
- Build from zero: design and implement processes, systems, and rituals that will carry the team from launch to long-term scalability.
- Build a strong team culture rooted in accountability, growth, and shared success
- Mentor team members to take on greater ownership and grow
- Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and implement practical, scalable fixes
- Continuous process improvements
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is both strategic and hands-on — someone who can build from scratch, but also continuously develop and iterate, being focused on building operations that scale and make your teams work smarter, not harder. You are able to solve problems and find ways to grow the business in its early days, but also to zoom out of the everyday hustle to ensure successful long-term strategy and path forward for the business and your team.
You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable making decisions independently when needed.
- 7+ years in operations, support, logistics or similar fields, ideally across multiple markets
- 3+ years of people management experience, growing teams in fast-paced environments and thriving in a matrix organization with cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience setting up and scaling operations, for example in logistics, retail, or service industries.
- Operational mindset: think in systems, spot weak points, and fix them before they burn
- Good grasp of employment structures, labor law principles, and people processes. Understanding and experience from the Nordic employment environment is a big plus.
- Strategic thinker who can also roll up sleeves — you’re as comfortable with Excel sheets as you are in solving real-life, real-time problems with your team.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Fluency in English, Nordic languages a plus.
- Eligibility and willingness to be located and work in one of the Nordic countries
- Understanding of AI and how it can help build efficiencies, eliminate repetitive work and fast-track the business towards its goals and deliverables
- Advanced in Google Sheets and familiar with analytical tools like Looker
Why you’ll love working with us
- The opportunity to build something completely new, with real impact on the future of platform work.
- A collaborative, fast-moving, and international environment.
- The chance to shape how we operate across multiple countries
- A team that combines ambition with care — we get things done, but we also have fun doing it.
