Role Background 

As a Strategic Finance Partner for the Japan market, you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategy and execution of our operations in the market. You will be a trusted strategic thought partner to key stakeholders across the company, advising on the most efficient investment and capital allocation decisions. Your insights will directly influence critical business choices, ensuring we consistently enhance the experience for all our customers, partners, and team members.

In this role, you will lead financial reporting, forecasting, and planning activities, empowering teams with the insights they need to make informed decisions. You will be at the forefront of shaping financial strategies that support our operational goals, delivering meaningful impact across Wolt’s operations.

What you’ll be doing

• Strategic Thought Partnering: Work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to align on key business goals, helping guide strategic decisions with data-driven insights. Partner with General Manager in complex operational questions and collaborate cross-functionally to uncover the most optimal data-driven business decisions and investments

• Financial Reporting & Planning: Own the P&L of Japan market. Lead the financial reporting, forecasting, and planning efforts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with overall company objectives.

• Investment & Capital Allocation: Drive recommendations around investment opportunities and capital allocation to maximize returns, improve efficiency, and drive growth.

• Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor business performance, identifying trends and insights that can improve decision-making and operational efficiency.

• Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate financial insights and recommendations to a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring they understand the financial implications of strategic decisions.

Our humble expectations

• 6+ years of experience in Strategic Finance, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, or Consulting at a high-growth technology startup or well-established company

• Advanced modeling skills; ability to translate complex and dynamic operational drivers into financial models.

• A strong communicator, able to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.

• Proactive and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring precision and accuracy.

• Proven success in project management, operational execution and performance management.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
