As we’re looking to increase our impact and make it more visible across stakeholders, we are now searching for a skilled and proactive Merchant Communications Manager to join our communications team, reporting to the Global Head of Merchant Communications.

This role will be an integral part of the Global Merchant Communications team and central to shaping the public narrative about local commerce and local merchants. We’re seeking a motivated and creative thinker who understands societal and political dynamics, can execute beyond press releases, and thinks digital first.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute communications narratives and strategies, ensuring alignment between Wolt’s global business objectives and external messaging—from strategy to hands-on execution and reporting.

  • Shape how Wolt, platforms and local commerce are perceived in the public. For example, by amplifying reports and research findings in engaging and creative ways across owned, earned and - at times - paid channels, ensuring they resonate with the public, media, and policymakers.

  • Identify and develop interesting stories about our merchants, be it for seasonal moments, to announce partnerships, or increase awareness for all that Wolt has to offer.  

  • Diversify the channels that Wolt communicates on; execute visual and simple communications campaigns on social media and other channels.

  • Create practical guidance, playbooks, and best practices to empower global, regional, and local teams to manage communications activities on merchant and local commerce topics independently.

  • Provide media training, talking points, and strategic support to executives and local teams to act as spokespersons.

  • Monitor public perception and media coverage, making necessary adjustments to align with public discussions and policy goals. 

  • Work closely with our central teams, including the global Merchant team, Legal, Operations, Product, Marketing, and other internal teams to ensure an integrated approach to communications.

  • 5+ years of experience in media relations, public affairs, strategic communications, or policy communications, ideally within the platform economy or tech sector.

  • Proven ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders and drive projects independently while managing multiple priorities.

  • Excellent writing skills in English, with the ability to adjust the tone for different audiences and simplify complex topics. 

  • Experience in traditional media relations and social media engagement, with a digital-first mindset to shape public conversations.

  • Familiarity with issues management and a proven track record of building a positive reputation through proactive communication initiatives.

  • Strong attention to detail and high standards for your own work and that of others.

  • Willingness to occasionally travel and join calls outside business hours due to the global nature of the role and our partnership with DoorDash that we joined forces with in 2022.
