About Wolt

At Wolt, we create technology that brings joy, simplicity and earnings to the neighborhoods of the world. In 2014 we started with delivery of restaurant food. Now we’re building the delivery of (almost) everything and you’ll find us in over 500 cities in 30 countries around the world. In 2022 we joined forces with DoorDash and together we keep on dreaming big and expanding across the globe.

Working at Wolt isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely exciting. Here you’ll learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You’ll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you’re a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life.

Wolt is a Finnish technology company and we’re best known for our food delivery platform. In 2014, we started with restaurant food delivery in Helsinki, Finland. Today, we're in the delivery of (almost) everything, our platform is available in 30+ countries and used by more than 50 million consumers, and our diverse and talented team is already over 14,000 strong. From day one, we built our tech with scaling in mind. This allows us to operate efficiently across small countries and even small cities. Now, together with DoorDash, we’re building a global leader in our industry.

The role you are looking at is a part of Wolt Market - our very own grocery stores that deliver unprecedented convenience and world leading customer experience. People across 21 countries can order their groceries and have them delivered to their doorstep at lightspeed!

Wolt Market is growing rapidly and we have ambitious goals. We are looking for a strong Category Associate to build and maintain our assortment, trading plan (pricing, promotions), relationships and business plans with our suppliers and manage category performance in Germany.

As our Category Associate, you'll be a part of a close knit team working in Germany referred to as our commercial team consisting of Category, Content and Supply Chain.

You will work together with Category Managers in Germany to ensure that they have the right support to continue our fast growing assortment plans, getting in new vendors and stretching our campaigns to the best for our customers. Our customers are always top of our minds in all decisions and actions.

You will also work closely with our stores to ensure that we have the right assortment at every location, and with our supply chain to ensure that we are always in stock. You will also work closely with other internal stakeholders to secure and drive category performance at all levels.

What you’ll be doing

  • Administrative Category tasks: pricing management, invoicing, product and vendor onboarding and updates.
  • Analysis of category performance including forecasting, monitoring, reporting on the business, along with contributing to driving projects.
  • Vendor payments end-to-end ownership including Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt (GRIR) processes and strategies to ensure accurate financial reporting, prompt supplier payments, and the identification of business risks and deviations.
  • Develop and maintain a category and procurement plan to secure growth together with Category Managers.
  • Eventually participate in negotiations with suppliers to establish joint goals, and sustainably grow the P&L.
  • Own and execute key tasks such as campaigns, invoicing, pricing and category projects.
  • Work cross-functionally with counterparts internally with supply chain, content, operations, finance and marketing to grow the business.

Our humble expectations

  • You bring first relevant work experience, either through internships or a junior position — this is a great entry-level opportunity to grow.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Retail Management, Finance or a related area is preferred.
  • Experience in grocery retail, category management, account management, or a consulting environment is a strong plus.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • You are highly analytical, proactive, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • You’re able to think both strategically and operationally, while keeping an eye on the details.
  • Professional fluency in English (required) and German (preferred).
