At Wolt, our People Apps and Automations team is on a mission to elevate how over 10,000+ employees experience technology every day. As a Junior Software Engineer, you’ll contribute to building innovative tools, streamlining workflows, and developing scalable solutions that make work feel effortless.
You’ll collaborate closely with experienced engineers, IT, and business stakeholders to support and improve automation systems that empower our people to do their best work. This role is designed for early-career engineers who are eager to grow, learn modern technologies, and gain hands-on experience building real production systems in a global tech company.

📍 This role is based in Helsinki, Finland.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Contribute to designing, building, and maintaining applications that support the employee lifecycle.
- Support the development and evolution of our proprietary automation engine and internal full-stack applications.
- Work closely with senior engineers to implement new features and improve existing systems while learning engineering best practices.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across Wolt to understand their needs and translate them into practical technical solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code in a modern production environment.
- Document your work and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
- Participate in code reviews and actively seek feedback to accelerate your growth.
- Help identify opportunities to improve employee workflows through automation as we scale.
Our humble expectations
- 2-3 years of experience in software engineering (internships, academic projects, or professional experience).
- A solid foundation in computer science fundamentals (data structures, APIs, databases, system design basics).
- Familiarity with Python and/or modern web frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, React).
- Basic understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Curiosity about automation, internal tooling, and how technology can improve everyday work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear communication skills and fluency in English.
- A collaborative mindset and openness to feedback.
- Willingness to grow within a scaling, international tech company based in Helsinki.
