Senior Manager, HR M&A and Global Expansion
People & Talent
Helsinki, Finland
Full-time
Are you our new Senior Manager who is able to tackle ambiguity in an analytical way within our M&A and Global Expansion for our global People team? Do you want to work with a versatile global people scope and help us continue to grow both organically and inorganically? If so, then we’d love to talk.
Role Background
As part of our phenomenal growth, we’re now looking to strengthen and scale our people team with a brand new role and find a person to own specific pieces for M&A and Global Expansion. Together with business and other global functions, you’ll independently lead everything from HR due diligence to greenlighting and launching any new country or venture we are focusing on. To do so, we need a person who looks beyond traditional HR scope to support our growth in a way that ensures we operate close to business and are moving fast while we create meaningful people outputs in a strategic way. Be it for international new country expansion or M&A.
While you work as part of our team, you should be comfortable in rolling up your sleeves to get things done around all corners of Wolt, and with our key stakeholders in your area of expertise be those internal or external.
What you’ll be doing
Having end-to-end ownership for new country expansion and M&A for our people team in specific projects you are assigned to. For example, you’ll be independently shaping, structuring and leading the whole HR life cycle from HR due diligence to integration in M&A projects while you support our business to move fast and make meaningful decisions. Indeed, one of the core things to nail right is to work close to our customer, meaning business.
Work will be by rule done together with various stakeholders where you work as a PM for your area of expertise. You connect the dots in ambiguity, ensure right decisions are made and ensure work is done in an effective manner. This means your work includes a lot of stakeholder management while being able to independently drive impact for your work with the help of cross functional owners as well as external partners such as advisory. Mentoring your own team and cross functional teams in your area of expertise is part of your daily work.
You will independently own development activities in your area of expertise for which you have a habit of identifying gaps in ambiguity and get stuff done in a strategic manner to the lowest level of detail. This means you will be determining, designing and implementing preferred practices in use for M&A and People expansion where needed for which you find the right balance from specific business and/or cross functional needs, data and common sense. Here you lead and solve complex things creatively in the midst of ambiguity and focus on making sure we scale on a global scale and move with speed while iterating. For example, you are responsible for creating our Global People M&A process (including shaping deal and diligence process, creating scalable offer process, building foundations for integration strategy, and defining success metrics) from where we are today to meet the needs of our team and business as well as monitoring and ensuring it is implemented effectively and developed further where needed.
When our M&A and Global Expansion pipeline is not active, you will be leading and working on strategic people projects in supporting our global team and business across Wolt and DoorDash.
Having versatile scope within your area of expertise with a project type of approach. There may be things that come up so you are the swiss army knife in taking up these challenges together with our global team.
You find a balance between when to focus on the big picture and when to step in. You handle both with ease, and are not afraid to get your hands dirty while keeping a broader team goals and company strategy in mind.
