New Verticals at Wolt is Woltโ€™s Retail business line aiming to be the best shopping mall in your pocket. With hundreds of retail partners ranging from local flower shops and bakeries to large grocery chains and over 100 Wolt-owned grocery stores aka Wolt Markets, New Verticals is Woltโ€™s growth engine. Wolt Market employs over 2000 people in over 20 countries with heavy focus on people working physically in Wolt Market stores ensuring the excellent, Wolt-famous customer experience. 

To reach our next exciting growth plans, we are now looking for a People Specialist to join our currently still very small, global New Verticals People Team.

As a People Specialist for New Verticals at Wolt, you will work closely with our Wolt Market business in all people related matters to ensure excellent employee experience for a unique talent group within Wolt. Your clients are our over 2000 Grocery Associates and Shift Leads as well as Store Leaders working in the over 100 Wolt Market grocery stores located in over 20 countries, operating in several different local languages. You will also be supporting our Wolt Market Team Leads and work together with our global People teams as well as the Wolt Market Store Operations team to drive both short and long term development initiatives related to our people and culture. 

Success in this role results in clear, target audience specific adapted people processes to Wolt Market store personnel which are efficiently adopted in the everyday work at the stores enabling better leadership and employee experience. The first processes in focus will be onboarding and performance management. 

You will be reporting directly to our Head of People, New Verticals sitting Helsinki and working closely with our global and local Wolt Market team members. The position requires some international traveling to ensure understanding of local business realities.

What youโ€™ll be doing

You will be partnering closely with both the Wolt Market global teams and team leads as well as the People team to ensure development and implementation of people processes for employees working particularly in the Wolt Market stores and thus drive success and growth in Woltโ€™s retail/Wolt Market business line. 

  • Ensuring practical development and implementation of people related development activities at Wolt Market with particular focus on the store personnel

  • Enabling a store personnel tailored people processes with particular focus on feedback and performance management processes leading to improved employee experience

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to convey the unique needs and challenges of the target audience, and developing tailored solutions to support their success and advancement.

  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with several parties, particularly the store operations of the Wolt Market organization and positively impacting the overall employee experience within the teams

  • Analyzing key metrics related to the effectiveness of people processes, and recommending data-driven adjustments to enhance employee satisfaction and business outcomes.

  • Supporting and executing events, learning solutions and other employee engagement activities promoting positive, inclusive and collaborative work environment

Our humble expectations

  • You have 4+ years of experience in

    • Managing retail or other physical labor related business such as a grocery store, bakery, etc. preferably in an international or global environment/company.

    • And/Or, working as e.g. an HR business partner/specialist/manager with focus on physical labor intensive teams.

  • You have a good understanding of all core people processes and have experience and understanding in tailoring these processes to meet the unique needs of your client group. 

  • You have proven experience in managing change, supporting teams through growth and transitions while fostering a positive culture.

  • You are a strong communicator, with near-native fluency in English.

  • You exhibit strong problem-solving abilities, a proactive mindset, solid networking skills, and a strong willingness to take initiative.

  • You are experienced in creating learning content. Experience in working with e-learnings is considered a plus.

  • You are comfortable working independently, have high integrity, and can communicate and collaborate with all levels of the organization with ease.

  • You work well in a team and are completely comfortable collaborating remotely and dynamically using digital tools such as Slack and Zoom.

  • You have coordinated competency and leadership development initiatives, working with People Development and local HR teams.

  • You have a creative approach to nurturing organizational culture, promoting knowledge sharing, and engaging employees
