Wolt Market is growing rapidly and we have ambitious goals. We are looking for a strong Head of Category Management to lead our commercial development and performance in areas covering assortment, pricing, promotions and campaigns, and relationships, business plans and retail media sales with vendors in Finland. 

As the Head of Category Management, you will lead a team of category management professionals and be part of Wolt Market Finland’s management team reporting directly to the General Manager. You will have full ownership of category management performance in the country and will directly contribute to the success and sustainable growth of Wolt Market’s P&L. You will work closely with stakeholders from local, regional and global teams including marketing, content, inventory management, store operations, finance, data analytics and product. The position is based in Helsinki at the Wolt headquarters.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading a team of Category professionals. 

• Having full ownership of category performance, including forecasting, monitoring, reporting on the business.

• Driving projects and trading strategy to achieve business goals.

• Defining and updating Wolt Market’s assortment at a store level to meet customer needs and optimize order economics.

• Leading effective negotiations with suppliers to establish joint goals, improve cost structure, and sustainably grow the P&L.

• Planning and executing campaigns, including selling Wolt’s retail media to suppliers and securing vendor-funding for item promotions.

• Influencing the design of the categories, as well as contributing to new product groups and improving the customer experience to deliver growth.

• Creating and executing business plans for new commercial opportunities.

• Working and coordinating cross-functionally with counterparts across marketing, content, inventory management, store operations, finance, data analytics and product.

• Continually improving and automating manual processes to enable the team to scale better as the business grows.

• Experience in grocery retail or CPG with a proven track record of delivering results. 

• 5+ years experience in category management.

• Strong communication skills and experience negotiating with internal and external stakeholders. 

• Team leadership experience.

• Experience from budgeting, forecasting and P&L 

• Strong analytical skills.

• Ability to think both strategically and operationally with an eye for detail.

• Full professional proficiency in Finnish and English.
