About Wolt
At Wolt, we create technology that brings joy, simplicity and earnings to the neighborhoods of the world. In 2014 we started with delivery of restaurant food. Now we’re building the delivery of (almost) everything and you’ll find us in over 500 cities in 30 countries around the world. In 2022 we joined forces with DoorDash and together we keep on dreaming big and expanding across the globe.
Working at Wolt isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely exciting. Here you’ll learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You’ll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you’re a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life.
Are you excited about building services that cater to the unique tastes of millions of users? Do you thrive in an environment where you can learn and grow? Would you enjoy working with modern backend technologies and building scalable systems from scratch? If so, great news—Wolt is looking for multiple Backend Engineers to join different engineering teams across our Courier Group!
Our Courier Group consists of 11 teams dedicated to enhancing the customer experience, optimizing courier partnerships, and shaping the logistics platform of the future. We are investing in the next generation Go-based systems, while Scala is a key part of our current tech stack. We also work with other technologies, and we welcome engineers who bring diverse backend experience and a passion for writing high-quality, maintainable code. We actively stay up-to-date with modern backend ecosystems and have a strong engineering community that fosters best practices and continuous learning.
If you're interested in backend development in general and want to collaborate with like-minded engineers, we have a lot to offer—we hope you join us for the ride! 🚀
📍All these roles are open for candidates who are based in Finland but some of the teams are also open to hiring for Tallinn, Berlin or Stockholm. So if you are based either in Finland or Tallinn, Berlin or Stockholm, don’t hesitate to apply. We offer a flexible hybrid setup: you can choose to work from the office, remotely, or a mix of both - whatever suits you best. We also offer relocation support if interested in relocating to Helsinki from another country.

💙 You’ll get to work in a company culture where we take ownership beyond the obvious, do common things uncommonly well, we think big but stay humble, do right by people, we treat others kindly and justly, recognise that if we don’t learn, we won’t stay still but fall behind, and keep in mind that Luke was Yoda’s greatest achievement.
