2 countries, 1 shared experience: Nutsa and Andi’s sales internships at Wolt

Finland and Georgia might be more than 3,000 kilometers apart, but when it comes to their Wolt journeys, Nutsa Tskhovrebadze in Tbilisi and Andi Buqaj in Helsinki had a common story to tell about their experiences.
Their internships have been fast-paced, getting challenging tasks from day one, and being surrounded by friendly and supportive teams.
Read on to see how Nutsa and Andi got their start at Wolt and what they’ve learned along the way!
Hello 👋 Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do at Wolt.
Nutsa: Hi, I'm Nutsa. I'm 21 years old, and currently in my fourth year of studying business administration in Georgia. I joined Wolt in the summer of 2024 as a Support Associate for the Israeli team based out of our Tbilisi office.
After my six-month internship, I transferred to the sales team, and I’ve been loving it. Since then, my internship was extended, so I'm staying here until January at least. There are some positions opening up in the new year, so I'm waiting to see what happens, but I’m 100% sure I want to continue my career at Wolt!
Andi: Hey, I'm Andi. I’m working as a Merchant Onboarding Associate, and very recently I was promoted to a full-time employee! I'm a master’s student currently in my fifth and hopefully final year. Like Nutsa, I'm studying business as well. I've gotten the opportunity to finish my studies while working here, and that’s been great.
Congratulations on the news, Andi!
Thanks! Yeah, it was great!
What got you interested in Wolt?
Nutsa: So, I chose to study business administration because it has so many directions you can take, and I knew I would find something that would interest me. It turned out to be working in sales at Wolt.
I first chose Wolt because it has a really flexible schedule for students. You have the opportunity to choose when you want to work, and your preferences are taken into consideration. But what really convinced me was the growth potential. I knew Wolt was a place where I could learn across teams and take on new challenges, and that’s exactly what’s happened.
Andi: I'm a very active user of the Wolt app. And as a business and marketing student, I was really interested in Wolt’s marketing. The brand, how it started, and has been built up.
The idea of working for Wolt was so cool, and I thought it would be such an honor given it’s a Finnish founded tech company, very fast growing, and globally recognized.

Wolt is well known as an employer in its home country of Finland, but what about Georgia, Nutsa?
Wolt is one of the best employers you can choose in Georgia. There’s the flexible schedule, the salary, and also the opportunities for students.
Many entry-level jobs in Georgia require a few years of experience, which can be hard if you’re a student. Some are low-paying, only offer short-term roles (6-12months) and there’s no guarantee of any employment afterwards. Wolt stands out because it gives students real opportunities to learn and progress.
Right, so how did you get hired?
Andi: I actually found my role scrolling on LinkedIn! I was really interested in the role because it was for a sales position, where I have some experience. The hiring process was very straightforward and efficient – it took about three weeks in total. The interviews focused on how I’d tackle problems or approach a business case in a new country.
Nutsa: When I started as a Support Associate, I was referred by one of my friends. I heard that she was working at Wolt and it was a cool job with great conditions, so I was interested. When my first internship was ending, I applied internally for a sales role that matched my skills, and I got it!
Both of you now work closely with merchants, but in slightly different parts of the process. What’s that like?
Andi: I’m in the merchant onboarding team, mainly supporting the Finnish market. I’m responsible for onboarding restaurants, retailers or any other business vertical that joins the platform. Once the sales team signs a new partner, I help them get set up — from creating a new page to training merchants on using the Wolt platform.
Our team onboards around 40 restaurants a week, and the process is super streamlined. I usually start with new venues on a Friday. Once we settle any open questions, then we create the menu, send devices to merchants, and on the next Friday the venue usually goes live. It’s fast-paced, but the training and support make everything flow smoothly.
Nutsa: I'm on the sales side, which is the stage before onboarding work that Andi does. We identify new venues like restaurants, cafés, and stores — that want to join Wolt. Sometimes we find them through inbound requests, other times we reach out directly via social media or other channels. Once they’re ready, we help them through the process and pass them to the onboarding team.
In Georgia, work changes with the seasons — things slow down in the summer when everybody's on holiday, but then September comes, and it’s a peak period for us since everybody wants to start their business and get into Wolt.
We’re also expanding beyond Tbilisi, which is exciting but challenging since some merchants need extra support using tools like spreadsheets for their menu, or have connectivity issues. So, we send people to support the merchants – helping with the menus, taking pictures of the food, you name it.

What sort of challenges have you faced in your role? This time Nutsa first!
Nutsa: I’d say our biggest challenge is our competitors. They’re trying their best to win over venues, and so are we. We’re reaching out to vendors and trying to get them onto our platform. Every click counts!
Andi: Maybe the biggest challenge has been adjusting to the fast-paced environment. I like working at a fast pace, but this took some getting used to! This is my first “office job” and there was a lot to absorb at first, but now I welcome it with open arms!
How has it been working at Wolt? And what makes Wolt unique?
Andi: I’ve really enjoyed it — it’s dynamic, international, and full of energy. It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions because every day is different. We have a lot of fun in the office! It was really easy getting integrated, and to feel part of the team. Even though we’ve grown, Wolt still has that startup mentality.
Nutsa: In Georgia it's the same vibe as what Andi said. One of the things I really like is that every team sits in the same space, so if something comes up I don’t need to message and wait. I can just walk over and sort things out quickly. This also means that you can see what other teams are doing and adjust your work to make the whole process smoother.
I also really like the environment here. There’s no hierarchy at all, which really sets Wolt apart from other Georgian companies. Everyone here is equal and you can say what you want. Like today, I got an invitation to my manager’s birthday. I really feel like I’m part of the team.

What have you learned about yourself since joining Wolt?
Nutsa: When I first started calling merchants, it was a bit intimidating, and I noticed, for example, that my voice wasn’t like it usually was! But since then, I’ve gained experience and learned a lot from colleagues, and now I put it to use when negotiating with merchants for example.
Andi: I’ve learned I’m very resilient, and with the team around me I think my communication skills are improving as well.
What’s next for both of you?
Nutsa: Looking ahead to the next few years, if I’m at Wolt I’m not too worried about which team I might be in. I know that I’ll have the opportunity to grow and learn in everything that I do.
I would be grateful for the chance to go to other countries where Wolt is operating. For example, I understand the team in Greece uses a lot of AI in their merchant recruitment and onboarding, so it would be cool to see that and see what we can bring back to Georgia.
Andi: Same here! I hope that my career will advance at Wolt. I just have to work hard and prove that I belong here.
I’m born and raised in Helsinki, and I really like it here. But if I got the opportunity to travel with the company, for example to see how we onboard merchants in other countries, that would be really interesting to see.
Any tips for future Wolt interns?
Nutsa: Naturally, motivation is really important. Just be yourself and have a willingness to learn and develop, since you will be exposed to a lot of new things and some won’t be in your area of expertise. You’re always free to ask as many questions as you want, both within your team and from other teams.
Andi: Like Nutsa said, just be yourself, and don’t be afraid to challenge yourself. Get involved in projects, be enthusiastic, take ownership of your work. Every challenge you face is an opportunity to prove yourself.
