Legal and Public Policy at Wolt
We’re far from being just another legal team. We play a key role in advising and working with the business and various functions on everything they need to be successful. We get to work with everything ranging from contracting, country-specific laws, expansion and business vertical regulations to the core topics that keep Wolt safe and compliant in everything we do. We also love to collaborate on various legal topics with our team mates from DoorDash!
While a big part of our role is to make sure we’re supporting in enabling the business and complying with existing legislation, we also dedicate a lot of our time to driving regulatory change – positioning us as a leader in our industry. We love to bring innovation, create modernized legal frameworks and build bridges between politics and business. And that’s why our talented team includes a bunch of legal and public policy professionals.
Our teams
With team members spread across Wolt countries, our role is to work with local authorities, ministries, politicians, and other policy makers on the evolving regulatory framework for our business.
Our work focuses on corporate compliance and corporate governance topics with all the Wolt Group companies in scope and are working closely with our team mates from DoorDash. We also work closely with our tax team on various intercompany matters and group structuring.
We support Wolt’s retail and Wolt Market teams globally on a broad range of commercial and regulatory topics related to retail.
Our country lawyers are here to support local markets with all legal matters for the specific country. That can be anything from “how do we launch a new business line in the country” to “how do we work compliantly with merchant and courier partners” as well as contract negotiations.
We provide strategic support to our leadership on international employment policies and practices. We also work closely with our People Team and support them internationally (aka Woltwide) in all employment related topics from recruitment till the end of employment.
