We are now kicking things off by hiring an HR Manager for Wolt Operations. Wolt Operations is an independent company operating Wolt’s courier employment model in Finland. You will play a pivotal role in bringing this new setup to life and  building the foundation that will enable it. We are looking for experienced people with a can-do mindset to help us shape and run this work.

We are looking for an HR Manager to support and enable this journey. 

What you’ll be doing

As HR Manager, you’ll play a key role in bringing Wolt’s new employment model to life.

You’ll be responsible for building and leading HR operations for employed couriers, partnering  with your regional stakeholders to create scalable processes.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Building the HR foundation for employed couriers at Wolt in Finland - including building policies, processes, organization and culture.
  • Leading and developing HR operations for employed couriers in Finland.
  • Acting as a strategic HR partner to local operations leadership.
  • Acting as a trusted partner to team leads, supporting them with employee relations and day-to-day people matters.
  • Ensuring compliance with employment related legislation.
  • Managing day-to-day HR topics — from onboarding and employee relations to performance and development.
  • Building and leading a small but growing HR team (starting with one HR Specialist, possibly more to follow as operations scale).
  • Driving HR projects that support the growth and success of the new employment model.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is both strategic and hands-on — someone who can build from scratch, but also develop operations at a large scale.  You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable making decisions independently when needed.

You’ll likely have:

  • Strong knowledge of Finnish labor law (other Nordic countries & SOX legislation seen as a benefit)
  • Proven experience working in both operational and strategic HR roles. Extensive experience and understanding of people operations from payroll to employment life cycle preferably in a blue-collar environment
  • A career built from being the sole HR generalist to leading and inspiring a team of HR professionals
  • Prior experience in an international environment, ideally leading or collaborating across multiple countries.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience from a high growth / extremely high paced working environment
  • Experience in supporting front-line and operational employees
  • Fluency with HR systems, preferably Workday
  • Fluency in Finnish and English — other Nordic languages are a plus.

To succeed in this role you will need to have a “builder” mindset and be driven to work under your own initiative. You need to be completely comfortable rolling up your sleeves, getting stuck in and driving HR from the front!
