About Wolt
At Wolt, we create technology that brings joy, simplicity and earnings to the neighborhoods of the world. In 2014 we started with delivery of restaurant food. Now we’re building the delivery of (almost) everything and you’ll find us in over 500 cities in 30 countries around the world. In 2022 we joined forces with DoorDash and together we keep on dreaming big and expanding across the globe.
Working at Wolt isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely exciting. Here you’ll learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You’ll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you’re a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life.
On the Global Merchant team, our mission is to have best-in class restaurant and store selection for consumers and build products and services for our merchants to grow their businesses profitably on Wolt. In doing so, we partner up closely with the commercial teams in our >30 countries.
Our five global subteams focus on distinct areas of the merchant lifecycle and experience but also our internal efficiency related to reaching our mission:
- The Merchant S&O (Strategy & Operations) team is responsible for our merchant and selection strategy, merchant experience, planning and performance tracking, operating model design as well as commercial go-to-market approaches
- The Sales S&O team owns and develops the goaling, sales operations processes, tools and enablement programs to support and improve the productivity of our local pre- and post-sales teams
- The Merchant Operations team focuses on smooth execution of core processes such as onboarding, Merchant Quality and self-service tooling - this in a very tight collaboration with our product teams
- The Enterprise team works directly with global current and prospective merchant partners to unlock and grow our joint business
- The B2B subteam owns and develops some of our newer service offerings for merchants - such as logistics as a service (Drive)
About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on operator and strategic problem-solver to join the Global Merchant team as Lead, Merchant Strategy & Operations. In this role, you’ll lead a portfolio of initiatives end-to-end — from identifying opportunities to implementing and scaling global solutions. You’ll work across product, analytics, and country operations to make our merchant ecosystem more efficient, automated, and scalable. You’ll be a key cross-functional driver, turning operational challenges into scalable improvements that shape how Wolt runs merchant operations globally.
What you'll be doing
- Lead cross-functional initiatives end-to-end: Scope, pilot, and roll out improvements that span multiple teams, domains, and regions (e.g. Improving Cancellation Rates, increasing the self-service adoption for Menu Edits, etc.);
- Drive strategic impact: Identify operational pain points, translate them into scalable opportunities, and shape how we support merchants globally, driving the impact of your initiatives hands-on across all Wolt countries;
- Champion AI-first operations: Build and deploy automations using tools like App Scripts, AI models, and LLM-based workflows to reduce manual work and increase efficiency;
- Solve technical problems creatively: Pilot and operationalize automations that improve internal team efficiency and merchant experiences;
- Influence across Wolt: Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Analytics, Platform Quality, Delivery Operations, and Support to ensure successful implementation and adoption of solutions;
- This is a highly autonomous, impact-driven role - perfect for someone who loves connecting strategy, data, and technology to make systems work better at scale.
Our humble expectations
You want to affect change every day, are result-oriented and can operate in fast-paced environments.
- 4–6 years of professional experience in operations, strategy, consulting, or a tech-driven environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives end-to-end, from discovery to rollout.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; you’re comfortable using data to make decisions (SQL skills are a plus).
- Curiosity and drive to automate — hands-on experience with tools like Google App Script, APIs, or AI-powered solutions is a strong plus.
- Self-starter attitude with the ability to navigate ambiguity, manage multiple projects, and deliver results fast.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills — you can influence without authority and bring teams together around common goals.
Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
We’re committed to growing and empowering a more inclusive community within our company, industry, and cities. That’s why we hire and cultivate diverse teams of people from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We believe that true innovation happens when everyone has room at the table and the tools, resources, and opportunity to excel.
