Wolt is a Finnish technology company and we’re best known for our food delivery platform. On our mobile app or website, customers can order their favorite meals from our restaurant partners, and either pick their order up or have it delivered by our courier partners.

In Norway we are currently in 32 cities and we are just getting started on our growth journey. Food delivery was just the start. Now, we have expanded our platform beyond food delivery into categories such as grocery, cosmetics, flowers, toys, electronics, books and other exciting products, all referred to as retail.

As the Head of Retail Key Accounts you’ll be responsible for leading the local expansion of our retail vertical. Focusing on strategic partnerships with large retail chains and smaller local shops while optimizing venue performance on our platform and driving retail revenue growth. You will have the ability to shape the strategy for how we develop retail businesses via the Wolt app. Reporting to our Head of Commercial you will also work together with the country team to grow and develop Wolt’s retail partnership portfolio, doing whatever it takes to manage successful retail venues of all sizes.

The ideal candidate is ready to take on a two-folded job: introduce Wolt to e.g. retailers in our cities so that they can start experiencing the benefits of our service, as well as building the local setup and preparing our operation to cope with the demand we expect. Finally, you would collaborate with our Finish HQ and peers in other markets to develop our product offering to suit the needs. Preferably, you understand what our users want before they do it themselves. You’ll participate in commercial negotiations with core suppliers and help to continuously optimize commercial terms.

You’re expected to be an experienced and strong self-starter, who can set up the foundations, build a team and lead the growth of this function. 

What you'll be doing

  • Define, build and grow retail through our existing partnerships at Wolt 
  • Develop and foster partner relationships with C-suite stakeholders
  • Determine the needs and wants of partners, prioritize them internally by impact on the business, and work to co-create solutions with multidisciplinary internal and external teams 
  • Engage partners in growth strategy conversations (i.e. adding more stores to Wolt, increasing same-store sales, improving profitability, expanding with new brands, category management and maximizing product inventory on Wolt etc)
  • Strategically introduce and execute on new product and service opportunities to broaden partnership depth and increase partner revenue streams (e.g. white label logistics, advertising)
  • Develop and execute co-marketing campaigns with partners to promote the partnership, drive sales, and increase customer awareness across multiple channels (social media, OOH, etc.)
  • Drive forward operational improvement with your partners to ensure that together we are delivering the best experience for Wolt’s end customers
  • Define and follow relevant operational and sales KPIs closely and take action when needed.
  • Continuously train and develop the Retail Key Account Management team. As the retail side grows, you will be building the team.

  • Ideally, you have experience in building business and operations from scratch both in terms of strategy, but also execution and being hands-on. 
  • You are looking forward to taking on a challenge to establish a new segment  - acting as an entrepreneur and problem solver, not being deterred by set-backs.
  • You are curious, committed and enjoy taking on full ownership. Therefore, you will naturally take the lead and orchestrate the necessary changes together with the rest of Wolt to reach KPIs and improve the offering.
  • Have a proven success record in business development and/or account management driving engagements and negotiations with stakeholders at C-Level 
  • Are passionate about using analytics to translate data into actions, build insights around problems and opportunities and producing relevant KPIs. Experience working with advanced Excel and ideally other analytical tools (e.g. SQL, Looker) is preferred
  • Know how to take very broad challenges or opportunities and turn them into relevant projects with clear milestones and goals working with international and interdisciplinary teams
  • Are a self-starter and reliable team player with the ability to deliver results on-time and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously with a strong bias for action
  • You have strong negotiation and great interpersonal skills - networking and building relationships are your second-nature.
  • You are fluent in Norwegian and English.
  • Retail or FMCG related background and sales experience is a big plus.
