Role background

We are now looking to strengthen our Legal and Public Policy team with an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to be based preferably in Budapest and provide legal support across commercial and compliance topics in a number of Wolt countries in the relevant region that includes countries in Central Europe and the Baltics.

In this role, you will be providing proactive legal advice to several of our country teams, with a primary focus on commercial and compliance topics. Depending on your level of expertise and aspirations, you may also be given additional responsibility areas as the team continues to evolve. • You will be the first point of contact and trusted advisor for our business stakeholders and management in the region and countries you are responsible for.
  • Assessing and managing risks while supporting the business.

  • Master of Laws degree from a reputable university in the EU, preferably from Hungary. An additional LL.M. degree from the US or another country is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Interest in taking on a generalist legal role with a broad range of tasks.
  • Experience in working in close cooperation with internal and external legal teams and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Generalist skills and strong expertise with a solutions-driven can-do attitude are an absolute must.
  • Our ideal candidate has a deeper knowledge of several legal fields relevant to our business, e.g. general contract law, e-commerce, consumer protection, or competition law.
