Role background

Wolt is originally a Finnish technology company and we’re best known for our food delivery platform. Just three years ago, Wolt operated in 4 countries and 10 cities across the Nordics. Fast forward to today, we’re in 23 countries with over 5,000 employees. Today we operate in 210+ cities, servicing over 15M registered users, and we’ve expanded our platform beyond food delivery into categories such as cosmetics, flowers, toys, electronics, books and even running our own grocery stores called Wolt Market. We are rapidly expanding our business, and our vision is to offer everything our customers need, to their door, in 30min or less.

We’re now looking for a versatile and experienced employment law professional to own our day-to-day employment legal matters across countries, different business functions and multiple employee groups (excluding our courier partner model). We are hoping you to drive the development of our employment practices and the role of our in-house employment support to the next level.

We’re looking for someone who has the ability to tackle complex employment legal issues across different countries, expansion and business functions. A person who is able to maneuver multiple cases and stakeholders simultaneously, understand core business needs and support our people with the Wolt way of doing things will excel in this role. In this position you get to influence how to improve processes and scale our way of working. At the end of the day we are looking for a problem-solver with an entrepreneurial mindset and solution-driven ways of working. Our ideal team member has an ability to be close to our business, is dynamic and proactively gets things done. We also appreciate quick thinking and a can-do attitude of rolling up one's sleeves, no matter the task or if it is in one's comfort zone or not.

In this role, you will be ideally located in Helsinki where the majority of the legal team is currently based.

What you’ll be doing

  • Being a trusted advisor in all employment legal topics to our People Team, country teams and operational teams across Wolt’s business operations.

  • Drafting and advising on employment related documents, including templates, guidelines and global policies.
  • Ensuring compliance with local laws and collective agreements, and managing risk in your area of expertise.
  • Participate in company level employee relations agenda, and proactively develop HR legal processes and guidelines. This includes advising on statutory co-operation and being the first point of contact for compliance issues around employee relations.
  • Owning our whistleblowing channel from an employment legal point of view including HR privacy.
  • Leading employment law related compliance projects and partnering closely with our People Team across our markets to advise on compliance and best practices in employment law.
