We always strive for global scalability, modern processes and automation, and therefore we prioritize systems development in every area of the business. As the business continue to grow, for our largest or most complex countries we need a local payroll leader with end-to-end understanding of payroll processes and ideally payroll experience from both in-house and outsourced payroll to provide first-class experience to all of our employees.

This role is open to a full time 18 months period. 

Your key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Lead and serve your team of around 1-3 Payroll Specialists with Wolt heart and humility, fostering their continuously develop them and offer guidance for decision making assistance when neededTake ownership of delivering payroll services to our teammates for a large country or a small region
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in managing complex international payrolls, including receiving, validating, and completing payroll-related data activities for one or more countries
  • Collaborate with the Head of Payroll Operations to optimise our service delivery model, and ensure that we maintain sufficient capacity and capability for all payroll processes while minimising the risks associated with potential points of failure for your teamDeliver a world class employee payroll experience when delivering payroll services and when customers need help, while also resolving any complex issues that arise with a root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Build and gather the key Payroll, HR and Finance data points to develop global payroll key performance indicators and service level agreement metrics to measure process health for your countries
  • Operate with a mindset of continuous improvement to streamline and automate payroll processes as opportunities arise, and work with the Payroll Operational Excellence team to build a modern, end-to-end and scalable payroll process building with vision for the future.
  • Develop payroll policies, practices, and a robust controls framework, ensuring adherence to country regulations to fulfil our payroll and tax obligations.
  • Maintain payroll data integrity across integrated HR and payroll systems, promptly identifying and rectifying any discrepancies.
  • Collaborate and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including partnering with our outsourced payroll vendor to ensure that our global teams are paid accurately and on time every month.
  • Support audit-related activities as necessary.

  • Take ownership of your development plan and collaborate with your Team Lead to achieve your goalsWhen necessary, backup your teammates to deliver payroll services
  • Fulfil any additional tasks as assigned by the Team Lead

Our humble expectations

  • You have a strong understanding of core payroll management and processes.
  • Vendor- and client-side payroll leadership experience would be considered a strong advantage.
  • Experience and passion towards payroll and payroll-related technology and processes. 
  • Hands-on experience of payroll process design is considered a strong advantage.
  • Previous experience with global payroll and Workday (or other enterprise HR systems) is considered a strong advantage.
  • You are a strong communicator, with high working proficiency in English. 
  • You enjoy taking ownership and solving problems proactively.
  • You know how to use excel proficiently.
  • You work well in a team and are completely comfortable collaborating remotely and dynamically using digital tools such as Slack and Zoom.
