Wolt is a technology company that makes it incredibly easy to discover and get the best restaurants, grocery stores and other local shops delivered to your home or office. We were founded in 2014 and joined forces with DoorDash in 2022 - of the 27 countries that DoorDash operates in today, 23 are with the Wolt product and brand.

Our Partner Retail team operates across the 23 countries to make Wolt the ideal destination where customers can search and find large and relevant retail assortment, from everyday essentials to weekly shopping, with broad category coverage and affordability. To accelerate our journey beyond Restaurant food into Retail categories (e.g. Grocery, Health & Beauty, Pharmacy, Electronics etc.), we are looking for a Manager, Selection Initiatives, to strengthen our Global Partner Retail proposition to consumers.

In this role you will be directly driving initiatives that improve the selection and assortment of our retail partners on Wolt app. You will work as part of a global team, but more importantly with all 23 local markets to ensure that our merchants have the best possible selection of stores and assortment of products for our customers. In this role you combine business acumen, customer obsession, ability to partner with local teams and love for analyzing data. 

The Manager, Retail Selection Initiatives will own complex projects to identify and capture sizable opportunities to accelerate the key drivers of growth for our Partner Retail business. The goals for the role include for example:

  • Driving up commitment of large product assortments from global Enterprise Partners, via sales insights, partner success benchmarks and category recommendations on the best products to list on Wolt
  • Improving the general assortment range that our Partners make available to customers, across all shop types, from Supermarkets, to Convenience stores, Health & Beauty, Pet Shops & more 
  • Improving the assortment relevancy for the key seasonal Retail moments in the calendar year (e.g. including Festivities and Special Events, such as St Valentines, Black Friday) 
  • Accelerating improvements in Category coverage, by leading initiatives to provide customers with more opportunities to find and buy the products they are looking for  in their city, across multiple Retail categories, beyond Grocery.
  • Supporting the Retail integration process with key Entreprise partners, by deep diving on the specific product, business or organizational blockers and structure path to integration, in collaboration with the Product team and local Retail team
  • Identify and lead ways to accelerate growth of Retail categories and Partners, together with global and local teams 
  • In collaboration with the Product team, further develop our app experience for the retail customers, to take the experience for existing Categories to the next level and expand to new Retail categories.

You will have the opportunity to join a high-performing team with a global mandate on accelerating Retail at Wolt, identify new opportunities at each stage of the Retail Partner lifecycle, analyze impact, and drive decisions based on insights. You’re expected to be an experienced and strong self-starter, who is capable of leading complex projects, equally comfortable in engaging with senior internal or external stakeholders and in diving into the data and details and collaborating with local teams managing the daily Retail  business to remove complexity and unlock growth. 

What you’ll be doing

  • Structure and own strategic deep dives to improve the end-to-end customer impact of Wolt’s key multinational retail partners
  • Develop selection and assortment tools, insights and playbooks to increase adoptions of best practices of local markets early on in the development of Retail proposition in a city. 
  • Become a knowledge source and a go-to-person for markets to consult on how to build and sustainably grow selection and assortment to maximize the long term value of enterprise deals.
  • Partner with Retail business leads, Tech, Product, Marketing & Analytics to ensure Wolt designs and delivers high-quality tools to allow local markets to maximize retail partnerships post-deal.
  • Clearly communicate plan and project status to management and business stakeholders 
  • Engage in key Partner discussions at the appropriate level to bring expertise and enable Wolt to  either land or expand the account

Our humble expectations

  • A proven track record of delivering results with experience in analytics, business management or consulting in a retail, preferably in the Technology, Retail or Grocery sector
  • Great business acumen - you have strong judgment on what best-in-class is, and good instincts. At the same time, you operate from the basis of factual data and seek diverse perspectives 
  • Strong analytical acumen, are at ease sourcing and manipulating diverse data and are able to quickly identify performance issues, opportunities and derive actionable insights. 
  • Structured, logical problem-solving skills with a bias for action, clarity and impact
  • A team player with the ability to work hands on with local teams to deliver successful performance improvements with measurable impact and bias for action.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functionally, with multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Natural tendency for ownership: we grow quickly, everyone has too much stuff to do
  • Willing to work in one of our these locations: Helsinki, Berlin or Amsterdam
