This is a unique leadership opportunity in Wolt, where you would be driving a key initiative of scaling our newly built Merchant application to millions of users. If you like driving multiple new projects and at the same time working on scalability and ensuring solid engineering practices in your team, this is a great job for you. Our app ecosystem at Wolt has 3 legs; Consumer app/s, Courier app, and Merchant app. You would be responsible for all the core functionalities of the Merchant application, making our business stand tall in this tripod of applications.

Merchant App Core team is a cross-functional autonomous team, consisting of 1 Product Lead, 1 Designer, 3 Flutter, and 3 Backend engineers. The team is responsible for all the core functionalities of the application including its whole foundation. So, it comes with quite good flexibility of being able to focus on feature development work and technical initiatives. You will not be alone, there is another team with a similar setup that focuses on expansion topics with specific feature development that you would be working closely with.

If you are one of those unicorns with leadership abilities & development skills, there is room in this position for hands-on contribution as well! The essential tasks in this role are facilitation, communication, helping high-performing engineers to focus, and bringing them context. We are thrilled if you have technical expertise in fields in any of the flutter, and backend domains. Knowledge of the retail space is a plus. The team uses Scala in the backend development so experience with it or other JVM languages is highly useful.
