The quality of communication between our team and our customers and partners is essential as it determines how fast and accurately we can respond to inquiries and solve emerging problems. At Wolt, we currently serve over 20M+ monthly users and they love to chat with us, a lot.
Challenges include real-time messaging, ensuring that messages are reliably stored and delivered, and designing and building a conversations inbox with prioritization, attachment, and push notification systems. And that’s just to start with.
Node.js is the main backend programming language of the team, while frontends are built in React/TypeScript.
As a Team Lead, you'll be an inspirer, facilitator, and an enabler for the team to do what they do best, by running the weekly cycle of the team, making personal development plans, hosting regular 1on1s, working closely with the Product Lead and taking part in recruitment. You’ll be driving the development of top-quality software and communicating effectively with the Wolt Product team at large.

You know what it takes to develop top-quality software, take care of people, and achieve ambitious goals together. Don’t let the ‘lead’ bit fool you; team leads are our teams’ guides, not managers. There is no room for ego and we hope you can be flexible and wear different hats.
As team lead in the Support Group, you will be expected to be a servant leader and a master of facilitation while thriving to make the complex simple, facilitate the daily and weekly practices, and do whatever is needed to help the team succeed, while helping and guiding the team members in their professional and personal growth with regular 1-1s.
You will have the opportunity to get your hands dirty when required but you should also be able to recognise when it’s not necessary and let the team do the right thing.
Having solid experience as an engineer, designing and implementing quality software in Node.js on a large scale, and having knowledge of Kubernetes will for sure help here.
You’re a dedicated person who is pragmatic with a positive attitude, who doesn't shy away from going outside of their comfort zone, and who demonstrates curiosity and willingness to keep continuously learning.
