Wolt Market is a chain of dark grocery stores available on Wolt’s well known delivery platform. Wolt Market delivers groceries to our users within 30 minutes. Last year we took a leap forward with a dedicated product offering for Wolt Market - Retail Platforms. We successfully built from scratch several teams of talented Engineers, Product Leads and Designers building internal tooling within the areas like warehousing, assortment, catalog and pricing.

Currently one of our teams are looking to bring onboard a new Kotlin Backend Engineer. 

Warehouse Team: The software we build by this team is used daily by thousands of employees working in Wolt Markets. Our core mission is building tools with more real time data that helps our associates work more efficiently. But more importantly, providing world-class experiences to improve their satisfaction while working in Wolt Markets

Kotlin for us is a success story: we started using it in our Fintech team but now it has spread to multiple teams across product development for building our microservices.

At Wolt you'll always play an integral part in defining your team's ways of working, participate in architecture, CI/CD discussion meetings and decide on tools and best practices.

The teams collaborate closely with our Retail, DaaS, and Merchant (integrations) teams, share knowledge, best practices and infrastructure on AWS.

This position is based in Estonia (remote-first set-up). 

We are looking for a new colleague with first experience in software engineering. People from all technical backgrounds are welcome as we prioritize motivation, attitude and will to learn over specific technical stacks. However, your day-to-day work will be heavily involved with Kotlin as it is our primary technical stack, running as microservices on Kubernetes managed by AWS. For this reason we find previous first experience in other JVM backend languages like Java and Scala especially relevant.
